Kirkstall Forge

Food Bank Donation Station

03.06.2021 | News

Kirkstall Forge is proud to be open as a food bank donation station. We are asking all who can to donate any tinned items, dried food or toiletries to help make a difference in our community.

With people struggling to put food on the table and with the added pressure due to coronavirus, more families are living in food poverty and the demand for food banks continues to increase.

We will be donating all items collected to local charity slung low who organise and distribute food parcels . By the end of 2020, Slung Low in Holbeck (who’s day job is usually a theatre company) have been able to support approximately 7500 households with food deliveries in South Leeds. We would love to continue this great work into 2021.

The Life Team have established a Food Bank Donation Point at Kirkstall Forge. During, the first week of every month, Kirkstall Forge will be acting as a drop off point for items that people would like to donate. We’ll be collecting non-perishable food items such as… Cereal, Soup, Pasta, Rice, Tinned tomatoes/ pasta sauce, Lentils, beans and pulses, Tinned meat, Tinned vegetables, Tea/coffee, Tinned fruit, Biscuits, UHT milk, Fruit juice, Toiletries, Hygiene Products and Pet Food.

Please drop off your donations in the first week of each month to The Life Team on the main reception at Number One, Kirkstall Forge, from 7am-5pm Monday to Friday. Your generous donations will be taken to local charity ‘Slung Low’ to help out those closest to us, who need it the most.
