Kirkstall Forge

Kirkstall Forge train station opens

16.06.2016 | News

The official opening of the Kirkstall Forge station was held on Monday 28th June with representatives from Leeds City Council, the Department for Transport, the Leeds Enterprise Partnership and other local businesses in attendance. The station has proved to be a vital catalyst in kick-starting the £400million Kirkstall Forge development.

The 110,000 ft², seven-storey Grade A office building currently under construction on the site will complete in Autumn, becoming headquarters to Zenith, the UK’s leading independent leasing, fleet management and vehicle outsourcing business. CEG will also open a new office on the ground floor.

The Kirkstall Forge scheme will create approximately 2,400 new jobs in the office space, leisure and retail facilities, bringing economic revival to a site with an 800 year industrialised history.

The station offers hundreds of free car parking spaces, a convenient pickup/drop-off point and fully-accessible platforms with both staircases and lift access.

"The station has a key role to play in realising the major regeneration potential of the broader Kirkstall Forge development, bringing with it new jobs, training opportunities, housing and a range of office and leisure facilities to offer a significant boost to the local economy."
