Kirkstall Forge is proudly Different by Design and to celebrate this, we launched a series of events aimed at discussing amongst other things, cutting edge architecture, planning and design.
Our first Different by Design event had two impressive speakers. Oliver Wainwright is The Guardian’s architecture and design critic. Having trained as an architect, he offered a well-informed view of Number One and the wider Kirkstall Forge scheme, describing it as an “exciting prospect” which Leeds and the Yorkshire region should be proud of.
The second speaker was Keith Bradley, partner at Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios – the architectural practice behind Kirkstall Forge. He discussed the vision of the development, as well as exploring the similarities with the Stirling Prize-winning Accordia scheme in Cambridge, which was also designed by his practice.
The sell-out audience of over 100 people enjoyed a Q&A with the two speakers as well as Jon Kenny, Development Director at CEG who answered questions about design and the development at Kirkstall Forge.
